Individually
furnished and decorated, the entire second floor is available
for use by house guests at Ardgowan.
All the bedrooms lead off the second floor stairwell gallery and all offer dramatic prospects, either out over the Firth of the Clyde to the west, or across undulating farmland to the romantic coastal hills to the east.
As with the reception rooms on the piano nobile, all the bedrooms are sumptuously furnished with Gillow furniture and tastefully decorated with fine pictures and porcelain from Georgian, Regency and Victorian times. There are four double and four single bedrooms, some with four poster beds.
Two of the bedrooms are en suite, and there are an additional
three close by, many of which retain their original bathing
apparatus, dating from the time of installation: as a set
they are therefore of considerable social and historical
interest.
