During the 19th century Ardgowan became renowned as a sporting estate and to this day caters for a great variety of pursuits. Other outdoor activities on the property include loch fishing.

Adjacent to the estate there is a modern marina where boats can be moored or rented, and a short way down the coast lie the world-renowned links golf courses of Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry. For those visitors who wish to take in Ardgowan's rich cultural legacy, we also arrange luncheons, dinners, receptions, gourmet evenings, musical events, art history courses and historical tours of Scotland.

Lady Shaw Stewart was formerly a freelance lecturer based at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and wherever possible she will advise and conduct these courses and tours herself.
