The walls of the Willow Room are handpainted with fronds of Willow cascading down the walls from the ceiling. The design was inspired by the beautiful Diocletian window which dominates the room giving the illusion that the garden is creeping indoors. The work was carried out in 2017 and took only two weeks to complete |

The Myrtle Room at Ardgowan is so-called as When Lady Octavia Grosvenor married Sir Michael Shaw Stewart in 1852, she wore a wreath made of Myrtle on her Wedding day. After the Wedding the Gardener at Ardgowan planted the Myrtle from the wreath on the terrace outside what is now known as 'The Myrtle Room' |
